Less is more, even when it comes to eating brownies 🙂

Have you ever noticed an undercurrent of needing more? Fill in the blanks: I need to do more, I need to eat more, I need to study more, I need to be more….

I recently had an experience in a yoga class where the gentleman next to me was pushing so hard, his breath was acting like an industrial fan on my body. While this may come across as funny or even a little horrifying to some, I can relate.

What, to the industrial fan!? Yep, in some way I am this man, profusely sweating, disconnected with my breath, pushing hard.

It may not be in my yoga practice but there are other areas of my life when I feel this man pushing (not literally of course).

For instance when I’m tired and need to rest and don’t. When I eat a meal even when I’m not hungry, or take seconds when firsts would have been enough. When I get worried and even stressed that I’m not doing enough and so take on another project. When I go for a second walk because my first didn’t feel like it was enough.

Have you ever noticed that you can do exactly the same thing on two given days, but they can occur completely differently?

On the one day there is no need to push. There seems to be peace and harmony as we get about the day. On the other day it just seems hard.

So what’s the difference?

It comes down to the mindset of ‘I’m enough’. I’m doing enough. I’m being enough. I am enough.

There is no ‘more’ needed when we get that we are enough. We can settle in to our bodies and just be, elegantly do what there is to do and honour what there is to honour.

So in honour of launching our beautiful new Activated Buckwheat Brownie Mix (YIPPEE!!!) April is about less is more. And yes, even when it comes to eating brownies.
